Tinder is the ultimate dating app for the millennials, and it rose to fame in no time gaining immense popularity among people, especially the millennials. Tinder created a huge market not only in the West but also in the East, and especially in Asia through its Asian market is an emerging one. Today Tinder announced that they are looking to release a Lite version of the app for their growing markets in Asia, and they will start with Southeast Asia. This is a part of the Match Group’s growth strategy.

In the southeast Asia data access is limited and mobile app use is more expensive for users. Tinder group’s main focus is to increase the app’s performance and accessibility in these areas, and as such, they have decided to release Tinder Lite.

The time required to download the app would become drastically shorter for the Tinder Lite app. It would also reduce battery usage by 20 percent. However, this does not mean that the app would be lacking in other performance areas. The experience of the Tinder Lite app would be the same as the main Tinder app, like its ability to “Like” or “Nope” profiles, match, and chat with new people with whom they have matched on the app. There is one downside to this app.

The users would not have the option to upgrade to a Tinder Plus or Gold subscription within the app. The company said that it has kept in mind this problem and that they would soon introduce the premium features.

The app will be available on Google Play in Vietnam in the coming weeks and will release in the other parts of the southeast region soon, and later in South America. However, its not clear yet whether the Liter version of the app will be releasing in India or not as Tinder has not explicitly mentioned anything along that line.
