Lyft, the transportation network company based in San Francisco, California, and Uber’s ride-hailing rival, has partnered with Metrolinx to serve as the official rideshare partner in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).

Lyft will be the official rideshare partner of the Exhibition GO Transit, Oakville GO Transit, Unionville GO Transit, and Bramalea GO Transit stations.

GO Transit is a regional public transit system serving the Greater Golden Horseshoe region of Ontario, Canada.

Metrolinx, a ‘Crown agency’, manages and integrates road and public transport in the Golden Horseshoe region of Ontario, Canada.

This move aims to help passengers avail Lyft services from its GO Transit station partners for an almost seamless journey towards their destination.

Lyft is passionate about transportation equity and reducing the need for single-occupancy personal vehicles. We are proud to partner with Metrolinx in a first-last mile solution to help riders get to and from GO stations, making it even easier to travel in the GTHA without a car. – Aaron Zifkin, Managing Director for Lyft in Canada

Moreover, Lyft has offered its customers a discount of $4 in their next 5 rides to the above mentioned GO Transit partner stations between July 1 and December 31.
