Under the name of Mi Smart Band 3i, Xiaomi would be developing a Lite version of the Mi Band 3, at a more affordable price, according to the recent filtering of a code snippet from the Mi-Fit app.

The AndroidPTR site was responsible for the filtering that indicates a device with the code name RIO, detected previously, will be the new Mi Smart Band 3i of Xiaomi, an economical version of the Mi Band 4.

The source points out that by adding the name “i” in the name of the wearable, Xiaomi refers to a device that will have fewer features than the full version of the Mi Band 4 to reduce costs. As it happened with your Mi Band 2i

It is speculated that Xiaomi is working on economic versions of its Mi Smart Band to reach markets like India, to cover the most popular sectors. However, outside of what we can see in the Mi-Fit code snippet, there are no more details about the Mi Smart Band 3i.

Previously the androidPTR site also revealed that the Mi Smart Band 4 bracelet would come in two versions, according to another fragment of filtered code. A version would have NFC support to make payments, scan IDs without removing the phone or credit card.

While there would be another version without NFC support and therefore with fewer features, this coincides with the new information revealed by the site, where they also point out that until now the economical versions of these smart wristbands from Xiaomi have ruled out the presence of heart rate sensors.

The site also noted that Xiaomi is developing four new Amazfit wearable devices with code names Hawk, Falcon, PYH, and Kestrel. But remember that these are only speculations, so we must take it with tweezers and wait for official statements from the Chinese manufacturer.
