Oppo K-Series Smartphones: 20 New Models Registered

Must Read

There is some good news for all the Oppo phone lovers. The Chinese smartphone major is all set to launch a wide range of smartphones. After presenting an impressive smartphone with the latest features, the company plans to launch nearly 20 new smartphones under the new Reno series. Oppo launched the K series smartphones last year in October. For the time being, only two Oppo smartphones have been released within the K series, the K1 and the K3. However, a series of new trademark applications raise the suspicion that Oppo intends to further expand this innovative telephone series in the future.

New Oppo K series models

On July 15, 2019, Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications submitted no fewer than 22 trademark applications to the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office), all related to the K series.

The applications were submitted by NJ Akers & Co from Great Britain. This concerns the following Oppo models; K1, K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, K9, K10, K11, K12, and K13. Subsequently, a whole series were requested with dozens; Oppo K20, K30, K40, K50, K60, K70, K80, K90 and finally the K100.

The trademarks are categorized as Class 9, which includes smartphones. Most applications are still being investigated, but approval has been granted immediately for the K70, K80, K90 and K100 models.

This is not the first time that Oppo has submitted such a series of trademark applications. Exactly a year ago, Oppo also registered around 40 smartphone models, but then there was not a single K-series smartphone among them. Not all models have been released, but the roadmap certainly shows what we can expect.

Oppo offers affordable smartphones with an innovative character within the K-series. The company focuses on millennials, also known as Generation Y (born between 1980 and 2000). Oppo has chosen a different strategy for the sale of these devices, as the phones can only be purchased online. The company has entered into a partnership with the world’s largest online retailer Amazon.

The first K-series smartphone was introduced in October 2018, it was the Oppo K1. A budget telephone of only € 200, with some unique features for a telephone in this price range. The K1 has a 6.4-inch Full HD + AMOLED screen and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The second Oppo smartphone in the K series was released only three days ago. The Oppo K3 has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD + resolution. This model is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner that is integrated under the screen. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 710 chipset and for taking selfies the mobile phone is equipped with a pop-up camera.

In addition, the K3 has Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 fast-charging technology, which can also be found in most Reno smartphones. This allows you to fully charge the device in just 1.5 hours. Oppo also has even faster-charging technology; Super VOOC (50W) is the fastest charging technology currently available for smartphones. This fast-loading functionality is used in the Oppo RX17 Pro, among others. But the K3 is of course not yet the K100, there is still plenty to come.

Because apart from the K1 and the K3, Oppo has had another 20 model names of devices that have not yet been introduced. It is clear that the company intends to further expand its K-series in the future. We are therefore curious to see which models are still in the pipeline.
