LG To Bring M Series Smartphones Starting From LG M10

Must Read

LG W-Series is launched in India this month. It’s a completely new smartphone series, which currently includes three models; the LG W10, W30, and the W30 Pro. All three budget smartphones have a large battery. Differences between the three models can mainly be found in the cameras used. A new trademark application from the Korean manufacturer suggests that LG will soon introduce a new smartphone series, the LG M series starting from the LG M10 smartphone.

On July 8, 2019, LG Electronics filed a trademark with the KIPRIS (Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service) with the name M10. The application is categorized as Class 9, with the description; ‘mobile phone; smartphone ‘.

There has never been an LG M series smartphone. For the time being the details of the devices remains unknown. Judging from the W series, it seems likely that the LG M10 smartphone will be the entry model, after which an M20, M30, etc. may follow.

LG has clearly bet on tens. Not only for the W and M series, but also for the budget K series. The same applies to LG’s other high-end phone series, namely the V-series. In November 2018, four new names were recorded for the LG V series; V50, V60, V70, V80, and V90. These were registered in Canada.

The LG V50 ThinQ was officially announced at the beginning of this year. This is a special smartphone, with an optional phone case for its second screen. The device can be used as a dual-display phone.

LG V60 ThinQ and V70 ThinQ smartphones

Simultaneously with the application for the name LG M10, the smartphone manufacturer also has the names V60 and V70 registered in their home country, Korea. The brief description corresponds to that of the M10. A remarkable timing by the way! Will a V-series smartphone still be introduced this year?

Many renowned manufacturers will announce a new top model in the coming three months. Consider the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, the Apple iPhone 11 and the Huawei Mate 30.

LG released a V-series smartphone with an OLED screen in the year’s second half. This year, however, LG has chosen to introduce the LG G8 ThinQ at the start of the year and LG V50 ThinQ.

Since LG has already announced two top devices this year, the question is whether a flagship will appear later this year? Few details are known about the development of LG V60 ThinQ. Yet I certainly would not exclude the fact that LG is still treating us to a new top model this year. The LG V70 ThinQ will probably appear (much) later.

Regarding the M series, we will have to be patient. This year, LG has launched significantly fewer smartphones within its Q series. These mid-segment smartphones are often based on the top models. Whether the LG M series can be compared with this is as yet completely unclear, but not entirely unthinkable. Finally, both the models within the K-series and the W-series are budget models. The middle segment has noticeably fewer LG smartphones released this year.
