There is some exciting news for all the Samsung Galaxy lovers out there. You have guessed it right, we are talking about the launch of several Galaxy A Series 2020 smartphone models, as reported in LetsGoDigital. Hold your breath! There are more in Samsung’s pandora’s box. Before unveiling Galaxy A Series 2020 models, Samsung will be launching one more 2019 model within the popular A-series. It’s about the long-awaited Galaxy A90, the device that all have been talking about for months. Some even thought that Samsung has scrapped the idea to launch the Galaxy A90, but the rumors are live again after the device appeared in the Geekbench benchmark database earlier this month.

The smartphone also obtained the required WiFi certificate afterward, which indicates that an official introduction is imminent.

Samsung Galaxy A90 specs

According to the Geekbench test results, the Samsung Galaxy A90 will be powered by a powerful Snapdragon 855 processor. This chipset can also be found in the Galaxy S10, although the Exynos 9820 chip is used in Europe. The Snapdragon 855 SoC is actually even faster than the Exynos. It would, in any case, be the first time that Samsung equips an A-series model with a high-end processor. The A90 is equipped with 6GB of RAM and the device runs on Android 9.0 Pie. However, Samsung may release several memory variants.

Samsung has two models in development, a 4G and a 5G model. The A90 would thus be the first A-series phone that supports the fast 5G network. The 5G variant (SM-A908B) is also coming to Europe, although it is still unclear whether this device will also be released in the Netherlands. For the time being, no 5G smartphones are available in the Netherlands, yet T-Mobile intends to offer national coverage in 2020. In preparation for this, the first 5G network connection was established in the Netherlands earlier this month, with the Oppo Reno 5G.

The new Samsung smartphone is expected to have a triple camera. It may be a rotating camera, as is the case with the A80. There is still some uncertainty about the resolution, and some claim that the cameras offer a resolution of 48, 12 and 5 megapixels.

The Samsung Galaxy A90 is probably equipped with an extra-large screen. There is talk about the size of 6.7-inch, this seems plausible because the A70 is also equipped with such a large display. With the Galaxy A70, a small notch is visible. If the A90 has a rotating camera, the New Infinity Display will be used – without notch or hole in the screen.

Rather than focusing on photography, this model is more likely to be a device that attracts gamers. The large screen and the powerful processor ensure that this device will lend itself perfectly to playing a game. Moreover, this smartphone is equipped with a large capacity battery, which means you can go on for hours.

Presumably, the new Galaxy phone will be equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery. The battery capacity is, therefore, also the same as the A70. Another functionality is being taken from the A70 (and the Galaxy S10 5G ) is the 25W fast charging functionality. All other Samsung smartphones do not have this 25W capacity, so the Galaxy S10 (Plus) only supports 15W fast charging. The fingerprint scanner will of course also be placed under the screen. The Samsung Galaxy A50, A60, A70 and A80 also have an in-display fingerprint scanner.

No information is currently known about the price. The Galaxy A80 received a suggested retail price of € 650 in July 2019 for a single device. You would expect the Galaxy A90 to be slightly above this and slightly below the suggested retail price of the S10e. The Galaxy S10e received a sales price of € 750 in February. Meanwhile, the prices have dropped considerably, so you can buy the S10e now for around € 550. However, it will be interesting to watch how the market will react if the A90 gets a price of € 700.

Though not much has been revealed about the final specifications, everything is at a speculative stage. There is a possibility of prices going down if Samsung does not use a rotating camera, This will also directly influence the selling price, and the device can only be put on the market at € 150 cheaper. Finally, the A70, which was released in March, received a suggested retail price of € 400. The A90 seems to show many similarities with this model, except for the more powerful processor.

On August 7, 2019, Samsung will unveil its new Galaxy Note 10 series, while the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is also expected. Whether the A90 will be introduced at the same time is as yet unknown, the chances are that we will have to wait a little longer before the latest A-series 2019 model is released.
