Over the years, we have become accustomed to the following Samsung release pattern: Galaxy S line at the beginning of the year and Galaxy Note in the mid-year. The Note series has come to be seen as an improved version of the S line, especially because it features the Stylus pen. However, in 2019 we had some changes. Both Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ can be considered genuine devices, but the visual identity of smartphones is different. Now, how do these new models differ from the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 +?

The Galaxy Note 10+ comes with a 6.8-inch screen, compared to 6.4 inches of the Galaxy S10+, which has curved edges and great use of the front area. The change here is that the front camera becomes unique and centralized, with a “hole” on the screen. An important difference, as well as being a major criticism of the Galaxy S10 +, making Samsung opt for a change in the Note 10+.

Still speaking of criticism, the dedicated button for Bixby, Samsung’s personal assistant, will not be present on the Note 10+. Something that has been expected for some time now has the feature of not “hit”, although it is a mystery if it will continue to be used in the Galaxy S11 or not. Another thing that has disappeared is the headphone connector, which is a disappointment, but it was already foreseen.

At the rear, we have a change in the organization of the cameras, which are horizontally centered on the Galaxy S10 + and now appear vertically aligned on the left corner of the Galaxy Note 10. That is, it is possible to easily differentiate each other from the front as well as the rear.

Regarding the battery, we have 3,500 mAh in the Galaxy Note 10, against 3,400 mAh of the Galaxy S10; and 4,300 mAh on the Note 10+, compared to 4,100 mAh on the Galaxy S10 +. The largest battery capacity in the Note line is clearly due to the size of the screens.

The Galaxy Note 10+ rear camera set is basically the same as the Galaxy S10+: 12 MP + 12 MP (zoom) + 16 MP (wide), but with an additional 3D TOF camera (Note 10+), so like the Galaxy S10+ 5G. We will compare both variants as soon as we receive the Galaxy Note 10+ for testing, placing them side by side.

Regarding the processor, we have an incremental update. Depending on the region, both Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ will work with either the Exynos 9825 chip or Snapdragon 855+. Both have similar performances, being basically updated versions of Exynos 9820 and Snapdragon 855, respectively. India will receive the Exynos version, from Samsung itself.

For storage and RAM, the Note 10+ starts at 256 GB, compared to 128 GB for the Galaxy S10 +, reaching 512 GB. Samsung, however, works with the same storage technology as the OnePlus 7 Pro, which means the device is even more responsive. The most basic model has 8 GB of RAM and the Plus as well as the Galaxy S10 + has 12 GB of RAM.

Of course, the great differential of the Note line, the Stylus pen, is still present. And, of course, the models come with the best available, whether it’s the ultra-high resolution (1440 x 3040) Super AMOLED screen or any other internal component. In addition, it comes with a distinct visual identity, in fact being a separate line, and no longer a Galaxy-S-with-pen-and-larger-screen.

That is, it focuses on an audience that not only cares about the Stylus pen but identifies with the distinctive design of the Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+. Both will come in aura glow, white, black and pink, and the Note 10+ will also feature a red version.
