Google Maps Reservation Tab

Google Maps is widely used all over the world for directions and other purposes, it has been making our lives easier and faster with its easy to explore options and features. Now Google Maps is getting two major updates that can change your way of using any kind of directional app. The app has introduced the Reservation tab along with your own updated Timeline feature. It will also feature live viewing of the Maps with the help of Google Lens.

Reservation Tab for convenience:

The new Reservation Tab now enables you to see the flight and hotel reservations in a single platform even though you are offline. Click the three lines at the top left of the screen and to Your Places, after that select Reservations Tab and you will be directed to your all upcoming events and schedules. In addition, you have access to the timing of your flights, hotel bookings and more. This feature will be available on Android and iOS very soon.

  • Click the three grey bars on the top left of the corner of the screen.
  • Click the Your Places option
  • Choose the reservations tab.

When your camera meets your map:

In the I/O conference last year by Aparna Chennapragada, the vice president for Google Lens and AR, announced that Google Lens was about to collaborate with Google Maps.

…Our teams have been working really hard to combine the power of the camera, the computer vision, with Street View and maps to re-imagine walking navigation.

However, at 2019 I/O conference, it was announced that the Beta version of Google Maps with AR has been provided to the Google Pixel owners. Now this Update is available for the Android and iOS users. You will have access to the alternative reality and can turn it to your local guide and walking companion at the same time. Huge arrows will pop up on your screen and show you the best way to explore your surroundings.

Timeline of your own:

Did you visit a nearby place and loved it? Well, why not update it in your Google maps timeline? Thus you can have a count on your activities e.g. the places you visited, the places you loved, you can also tick what you loved the most about it and share it with your family and friends. This timeline feature is divided into categories e.g. shops, restaurants, airports, hotels, etc. and it also make suggestions for you to narrow down your places of interest.
