Flipkart’s video streaming service, which offers movies, TV shows, and web series, are now available in India. In order to compete against other online retail platforms such as Amazon which also offer similar privileges with the Prime subscription, Flipkart introduced its video streaming platform.
However, Amazon Prime is offered through a paid subscription, and Flipkart’s video platform does not require any such subscriptions. What is more, it comes without being interrupted by online ads.
Flipkart’s video streaming service is offered via the Flipkart app. Videos and web series from other platforms such as Arre Dice Media, TVF, and Voot will be available on the Flipkart app. There is only one downside to it.
Flipkart video streaming is available via the app only in Android smartphones as the same has not been launched for other OS users such as iOS and for desktops. It should be noted that the latest version of the app (v6.17) is required for anyone to start watching the videos.
So, an update is required for those people who want to avail of this service. The service can be accessed through the hamburger menu on the top left corner of the app. Within this option there is a video section, there is an option called “Get Started”, and that is one needs to click to get started with their video streaming.
Flipkart also offers personalized video content and gives suggestion based on the type of content liked by the viewer. At least three videos need to be selected for the user to get personalized contents.
Flipkart video offers a limited number of video titles, and most of the videos are in Hindi; some are available in Tamil and Kannada languages. Auto and Good – the videos are available in these two qualities only, and the Good quality videos are offered in 480p.
