Spotify is going to launch the new Spotify Premium Family Plan to cater to the different music tastes and needs of different family members. Spotify creates personalized music playlists based on the kind of song liked by a person, and also introduces them to different artists of similar genres.
Spotify Premium members enjoy the added privilege of listening to ad-free music without any interruption, and they also get the option of offline music playback. Added to this already existing Premium privilege, the new Spotify Premium Family Plan users will now have access to many podcasts with having a shared family mix. This sounds a lot like Apple Music’s Family Plan which also caters to all the different family members based on their likes and dislikes.
Spotify Premium Family plan subscribers have on-demand access to 450,000 podcast titles and 50 million tracks of ad-free music. The parents now can control the Explicit Content Filter setting of all the accounts under the Family pack. These parental controls have been asked of Spotify for a long time now.
The update is not immediately available worldwide. Only Ireland will get this feature as of now, and it will be available to the rest of the world this fall. The new feature includes Family Mix, Family Hub, and Six Accounts.
According to Spotify, “Families will get exclusive access to a personalized playlist packed with songs the whole family enjoys. Family Mix is updated regularly and you can control who is in each session to optimize your family’s favorite shared listening moments.”
Using the Family Hub, users can now manage their Family’s setting in one place. They can also either add or remove a family member, update their home address, and adjust the parental controls. What is more, Spotify Premium Family will continue to provide six individual Spotify Premium accounts for family members living under one roof.
