Motorola folding smartphone to arrive in Europe in December

Motorola Razr Folding Smartphone

In February this year, the vice president of Motorola announced that the smartphone manufacturer is developing a folding phone. "This one will certainly arrive no later than other brands," he added. Since then there have been rumors about the development of Motorola RAZR phone with an elongated flexible display, so you can open and close the smartphone like a traditional RAZR phone.

Motorola RAZR folding phone is coming to Europe

LetsGoDigital has gained more insight into the current status of this device through an anonymous source. We have been able to verify this information and believe that it is reliable information.

To begin with the design, the Motorola RAZR indeed gets a folding phone design with one large flexible screen. This device has already been shown by 3D designer Sarang Sheth, who has made a series of fantastic renders based on a patent for Yanko Design.

The final design will look a lot like this model. In addition to a large flexible screen on the inside, the device will also have a second smaller screen on the front, which displays notifications and incoming calls. The screen dimensions are still unknown.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X are both high-end smartphones with a substantial price tag of € 2,000 and € 2,300 respectively. Motorola opts for a different target group with the RAZR folding phone. The Motorola foldable smartphone will not be equipped with a high-end processor, it will be a mid-range smartphone.

Partly for this reason, the device will receive a significantly more attractive price than the foldable smartphones that have been introduced to date. A smaller battery will also be built-in, so the focus is mainly on the design where no attempt is made to create a large tablet-sized screen, but rather to make a more compact phone - just like it used to be.

The smartphone will be launched in America within a few months. A price of $ 1500 USD has been discussed for a long time. According to a source, the Motorola RAZR folding smartphone will also be released in Europe shortly after the launch in America, where the device will get a suggested retail price of €1500. From December 2019 or January 2020, it should be possible to purchase this folding phone in Europe.
