To begin with the design, the Motorola RAZR indeed gets a folding phone design with one large flexible screen. 3D designer Sarang Sheth has already shown this device, who has made a series of fantastic renders based on a patent for Yanko Design.
The final design will look a lot like this model. In addition to a large flexible screen on the inside, the device will also have a second smaller screen on the front, which displays notifications and incoming calls. The screen dimensions are still unknown.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X are both high-end smartphones with a substantial price tag of € 2,000 and € 2,300 respectively. Motorola opts for a different target group with the RAZR folding phone. The Motorola foldable smartphone will not be equipped with a high-end processor, it will be a mid-range smartphone.
Partly for this reason, the device will receive a significantly more attractive price than the foldable smartphones that have been introduced to date. A smaller battery will also be built-in, so the focus is mainly on the design where no attempt is made to create a large tablet-sized screen, but rather to make a more compact phone – just like it used to be.
The smartphone will be launched in America within a few months. A price of $ 1500 USD has been discussed for a long time. According to a source, the Motorola RAZR folding smartphone will also be released in Europe shortly after the launch in America, where the device will get a suggested retail price of €1500. From December 2019 or January 2020, it should be possible to purchase this folding phone in Europe.
