The Indian government intends to unveil an official cybersecurity strategy policy in January 2020.

India’s cybersecurity strategy policy will be released in January 2020 and will enable the government to cyber-secure the nation. The government’s vision of a $5 trillion economy will be helped to a great extent by this effort – Rajesh Pant, National Cybersecurity Coordinator on cyber policies.

The cybersecurity strategy policy will help the government achieve its goal of making India a $5 Tn economy, said Rajesh Pant. The most important needs of internet security are to increase effective cohesion among ministries looking at various aspects of cybersecurity, the security of critical infrastructure, and public, private partnerships.

Considering the size and scale of our nation, we need approximately Rs 25,000 crore budgets for the same. The biggest question is where this money will come from? Also, there is a need to emphasize on the need to make cybersecurity mandatory as a subject at the university level for high-decibel awareness, – Bajpai, Director General of the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre.

Ashwini Mahajan, national co-convener, Swadeshi Jagran Manch, told that many multinational technology firms are using data mining from India for their best benefit but are not paying any taxes for it whereas in other countries oil resources act as a big opportunity to gain revenue. He said by taxing the data it could generate a new pool of tax revenue.

For India to reach a USD 5-trillion economy is an achievable target said Sameer Kochhar, Chairman of SKOCH Group. He said there are ample avenues to generate funds; the important thing is to utilize resources to generate more capital efficiently.
