Apple will introduce its new smartphones a little earlier this year, namely on 10 September. The press invitations have now been sent, the press conference will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater at the head office in Cupertino.
At the same time, IFA 2019 is underway, this annual fair in Berlin will start on September 6 this year. It is the first time that these two events take place at the same time. Apparently, Apple does not see this as a direct disadvantage. Three new models are expected; the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Max.
Apple iPhone 11 series
The Apple keynote takes place at 19:00 Dutch time, which can be followed via a live stream. From Friday, September 13, it will be possible to place a pre-order for the new models. A week later, on September 20, you can also buy the iPhone 11 in stores. In contrast to previous years, all three models will go on sale simultaneously.
All three devices receive a substantial camera upgrade. For example, the iPhone 11 is equipped with a dual camera, this may not seem like much, but the XR was equipped with one camera last year. The Pro model will replace the XS, this device will have three cameras on the back. The iPhone 11 Max also reportedly gets a triple camera. The third camera is likely to be a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
Apple will probably also add a stylus pen to the two most advanced devices. This could become an important added value. Finally, Samsung has also been doing well for years with the Galaxy Note series, due to the S Pen. Although there are iPads with a stylus, Apple has not previously applied this for its smartphones. However, iPhone 11 cases have emerged which show that this is likely to change in 2019, to the delight of many Apple fans.
The new iPhone models will also get a more powerful battery. The two most advanced Apple smartphones will also support reverse wireless charging, making it possible to charge your Apple Watch or your AirPods via your smartphone.
Simultaneously with the telephones, a new smartwatch is expected, the Apple Watch 5. Presumably, Apple will also introduce a new tablet, a 10.2-inch iPad is being discussed.
No information is yet known about the price of the iPhone 11 models. A small increase is likely to take place again this year. Last year the top model, the iPhone XS Max received a prize of € 1,260 for the 64GB model. The prices went up to € 1,660 for 512GB of memory. The cheapest variant, the iPhone XR, had a starting price of € 860.
