iPhone 11 cool multi-camera feature will make way to iPhone XS and XR

iPhone 11 Multiple Camera

The new iPhone 11 has just been launched last week with a cool camera feature to shoot several simultaneous video streams with the different sensor/lens combos on the handsets that include the selfie-snapper too. Within a week Apple has got good news for their fans, the iPhone 11 multi-camera app feature is also supported by the iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and the 2018 iPad Pro Models.

Since this is actually a feature of iOS 13, and Apple has produced a dedicated app API for developers to utilize multi-camera recording since June, it turns out that we might see this option trickle down to the iPhone XS and XR predecessors.

The new camera functionality allows you to combine feeds from multiple camera sensors into one video. It’s pretty impressive; at it blew everyone away when it was demonstrated at the iPhone 11 keynote. It lets you shoot something with the iPhone’s rear-facing camera while also recording your reaction from the front-facing camera. Apple uses the multi-cam technology in the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Camera app.

The only drawbacks for the 2018 iPhones are that they can’t utilize three cameras at once, while on the iPhone 11 trio they can. However, it is not yet clear whether you’ll be able to record from three or more on 2019 handsets.
The iPhone multi-cam app API will launch publicly on September 19, 2019.
