HP announced its latest premium ultrabook, the Elite Dragonfly. The new Elite Dragonfly Ultrabook will have the performance of both the EliteBook and the Spectre series. True to its nature of being an Ultrabook, the Elite Dragonfly weighs less than 1 kg. The HP Elite Dragonfly Ultrabook laptop runs on the 8th Generation Intel U-series with vPro, and its RAM goes as high as 16GB of DDR3 and the storage space can be expanded up to 2TB.

The Dragonfly has a display screen which offers a 4K HDR display, optional privacy protection with HP Sure View, and full HD (1,000 nits) or regular full HD panel (400 nits). For connectivity, the Ultrabook makes use of one Type-A 3.1 port, two Type-Cs with Thunderbolt 3, a full HDMI 1.4 port and a headphone jack.

For the chassis, HP is using a CNC-machined magnesium alloy which makes the chassis durable even in extreme environments. The standard 38WHr battery gives the Ultrabook a battery life of up to 16.5 hours, and the 56Whr battery in another version ensures a battery life of up to 24.5 hours.

For privacy, it has Windows Hello infrared for facial recognition and a fingerprint reader. For the first time, HP is using recycled plastic from the ocean for the speakers. There are in total four speakers, two on the top deck and two below which provides excellent sound quality.

Even though the Ultrabook is extremely lightweight, the dual-hinge design makes it flexible and it can be folded into a tablet. The inclusion of the HP Active Pen makes it ideal for drawing or designing something on it.

For the Dragonfly, HP has combined two of its finest Ultrabooks, the EliteBook, and the Spectre to give the consumers an extraordinary Ultrabook for an excellent performance. The keyboard also follows the HP Spectre series, and the keyboard is back-lit.

The HP Elite Dragonfly laptop will go on sale in November and the starting price is $1,549.
