Xiaomi presented today the world’s first 30W fast charge, also capable of reverse-charging (10W). Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will be the smartphone that will mark its debut, along with two very original new accessories. But that’s not all: Xiaomi has also shown its 50W wireless fast charging technology, currently still under development.

The 30W Wireless Charging Stand, complete with a cooling fan, recharges half a 4,000 mAh battery in about 25 minutes; to get to 100% it takes only 69 minutes. This new architecture increases efficiency and reduces the heat generated during charging compared to the previous 20W generation.

A further foresight on the part of Xiaomi was the use of Bluetooth for data exchange between the charger and the phone. In this way, the chances of disconnections during wireless charging are practically zeroed and stability is improved.

Xiaomi also presented two dedicated accessories. A 30W charging stand, which we have already mentioned, and a 20W Smart Tracking Wireless Charging Pad. The peculiarity of the latter is that of tracking the position of the smartphone, which can be placed anywhere on its surface. The front part shows the status and the charging time.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will, therefore, support 4 types of charging: wired and wireless, both fast, and reverse-charging on both methods. For example, while using wired charging, you can use wireless reverse charging to recharge your wireless headphones; or vice versa, use the OTG cable to power another smartphone while the Mi 9 Pro 5G is recharged on the wireless base.

The new technology is based on the 4:1 direct charging architecture with two levels of voltage reduction that improve efficiency, generating less heat during the process than the 2: 1 architecture of the 20 Watt technology used in the Mi 9.
