Canon announces EOS M200 system camera with user-friendly features

Canon EOS M200

The Canon EOS M200 is the new camera system announced by Canon and is the successor of the two-year-old M100. This camera is user-friendly and ideal for those who click pictures with a smartphone, and prefer to have a little better image quality.  The Canon EOS M200 camera comes with an improved Digic 8 processor, a renewed autofocus system and also making 4K videos is now possible. Users have the advantage to share their recordings and photo by using the built-in WiFi and Bluetooth support.

The Canon M200 is a user-friendly device with a 24.1-megapixel APS-C sensor that is larger than any smartphone, enabling to capture details. The system camera is equipped with a Dual Pixel CMOS AF, making photos and videos extra sharp. Capturing natural facial expressions becomes easy due to the Eye Detection AF feature, the eyes of a subject are automatically focused.  This autofocus system also comes in handy when capturing moving subjects.

You can shoot detailed images even in poor light conditions due to the sensitivity range of ISO 100 – 25,600. The updated image processor prevents image blurring and reduces image noise while taking photos in dark light conditions. There is also a 4K Time-Lapse function built-in. The Digic 8 also makes the 4K Movie function possible, allowing you to take razor-sharp video recordings with this system camera. 

The new Canon device has equipped the new EOS M200 with an LCD touchscreen that can be rotated 180 degrees. That way you can also take selfies with this EOS system camera. Moreover, you can rotate the display so that you can shoot from any angle, so you can easily choose the desired composition.  

 A self-portrait mode has also been added to the device which helps to adjust by making the background blur. Also, brightness can be adjusted easily and in real-time. A video recording button appears on the touchscreen, for the first time with an EOS camera, when Movie mode is used, enabling to start recording a vlog immediately. Video images can even be recorded vertically and displayed on smartphones so that after capturing the images optimized for sharing via social media.

The Canon EOS M200 is equipped with a range of settings and tools that easily take your content to the next level. For example, the digital camera offers Canon’s Creative Assist function; a suite of effects, filters and color adjustment tools that can be applied to photos while choosing the composition or after the shot is taken. It is also possible to add effects to previously taken photos, such as with a photo app, with a series of creative filters, including Grainy black & white, Fish-eye and Soft Focus.

The EOS M200 is compatible with EF-M lenses, specially designed for Canon system cameras. With wide-angle, telephoto and macro EF-M lenses, various image registrations are possible and the entire EOS lens portfolio is accessible using the EF-EOS M lens mount adapter.

Share photos and videos thanks to WiFi and Bluetooth support

With the free Canon Camera Connect app for iOS and Android, sharing or transferring files via WiFi or Bluetooth to your smartphone in order to be able to share the images directly.

Photos can also be automatically sent to a smart device immediately after they are clicked provided the camera is within Bluetooth range, a continuous connection can be established with a smart device even when the camera is turned off. The Canon Camera Connect app also makes it possible to shoot remotely using a smartphone or tablet, useful for taking group photos or taking a hands-free selfie.

Purchase a Canon M200

The camera weighs 299 grams (including battery and memory card) and is released in the colors black and white. The Canon M200 can be taken anywhere with a high-quality leather pattern. The appearance of this EOS camera can even be adjusted with a series of colorful camera covers.

 The Canon EOS M200 will be available from October 2019. The Canon EOS M200 kit includes the EF-M 15-45 mm f / 3.5-6.3 IS STM has a suggested retail price of € 610 including VAT.
