Opera Mini is one of the popular mini-browser that we have been using for a long time. The browser continued to improve from day 1 and is still coming up with new ideas to impress us. Opera Mini introduced its all-new offline feature through its blog post on September 24. The new feature allows us to share photos, videos, and audio files with others without any internet connection. The official blog post states:

“We are delighted to inform you that Opera Mini is the first major browser to introduce an offline file sharing feature… This will save you more megabytes and will bring you more value for your data package”.

Opera Mini claims to create a secure private network connection between devices via a direct Wi-Fi connection. It also guarantees a successful transfer of files 200 times faster than Bluetooth. The browser explains that this is possible because both devices are connected via direct WiFi. Opera file sharing will continue to happen unless or until the users stop it on their own.

How to send and receive files?

To start sharing files using the new Opera Mini feature, the users need to access file sharing in the browser settings. Then, they have to tap on ‘Send’ to share and ‘Receive’ to get a file from another device. Moreover, Opera Mini will provide a QR code which can be scanned by the receiving device to easily establish a connection.

What’s more?

According to the official blog post, The new Opera Mini offline file sharing feature “is a great complement to the already popular data compression mode in the browser”. With this, users can easily save even more data and money by sharing files offline.

This feature also makes it easier to share the already downloaded files. This process alone can save a lot of time and effort as one don’t have to go through the phone drive when searching for a file he or she wants to share.

Improved interaction

As the report says, Opera Mini was the first mobile browser to bring a full internet experience to millions of people on their mobile devices. It also saves up to 90% of mobile data and millions of people favor the mini browser because of its speed. In addition to the new offline feature, the mini browser is trying to expand its ways to interact with more people worldwide.
