Samsung is one of the leading electronics brands in the Indian market. It has been delivering some magnificent and pocket-friendly devices for a long time. Samsung is now all ready to launch the Galaxy Fold in India on October 1, 2019.

Samsung’s official Twitter account confirmed the launch with a teaser video showcasing the Galaxy Fold. The Twitter post said:

Galaxy Fold was announced earlier this year by the parent company. It is totally a new line of smartphones that have foldable screens. The smartphone comes with two displays. The 7.3-inch dynamic AMOLED foldable display bends inwards and the conventional 4.6-inch secondary super AMOLED display on the back becomes primary display when the device is folded.

While the device features primary display support of HDR10+ with 1536 X 2152 resolution, the secondary display has an HD+ 1680 X 720 resolution. The display has a 21:9 ratio. Samsung has named the display setting as Infinity Flex Display.

The smartphone has six cameras in total – two above the primary display, three on the back and one above the secondary display. The three back cameras include a 12 MP primary wide-angle sensor, a 16 MP ultra-wide sensor and a 12 MP telephoto lens. The dual cameras above the primary display include a 10 MP sensor along with an 8 MP depth sensor. The device also sports a 10 MP selfie camera above the secondary display.

Samsung Galaxy Fold is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and comes with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. It features dual batteries with a capacity of 4,380 mAh which is quite promising. According to the reports, the device supports two way charging along with 15W fast charging feature.

What is most noteworthy about this smartphone is that it supports the app continuity that helps the users to transit between both displays very easily. Users can open an app on a secondary display and continue using it on the primary after you unfolding the device. Samsung claims that the primary screen supports three-window multitasking. This allows the users to have a bigger screen area to open three different supported apps.

The smartphone will likely come in four color variants – Cosmos Black, Space Silver, Martian Green, and Astro Blue. Samsung Galaxy Fold has an expected retail price of INR 1,50,000.
