Kia Optima K5 Version

Kia Optima, also known as the K5 in South Korea, received a new design. The carmaker continually provided its interior and exterior sketches over the past couple of weeks.

Previously, Hyundai took the midsize sedan segment by storm with its gorgeous new Sonata. Now, Kia is looking forward to doing the same with the mechanically related Optima.

Probably, Kia optima will be on sale from next month. Kia K5 version is set to launch in its home country South Korea.

Kia K5 all-new version specifications:

The fifth-generation Optima gets a complete makeover with the presence of sloping roof design. There is also a chrome window lining that extends itself to the rear from both ends and meets below the rear windshield.

The front end consists of a wider signature tiger-nose grille with the middle portion meeting with bonnet creases that extends till the windshield. Furthermore, other highlights include tri-element headlights V-shaped LED daytime running lights, bolder front bumper, air intake with U-shaped trim, etc.

The rear tail light is a single unit running across boot-lid with multiple horizontal LED lines embedded inside. This rear bumper gives a sporty appearance to the car. Moreover, the Optima also sports dual air vents on both sides of the rear bumper.

The inferior images are not available. However, according to the sketches, a fully digital MID adjoined with the touchscreen infotainment system. A rotary gear selector can replace the traditional lever.

According to the information available, the Kia Optima K5 is currently offered with three different petrol engines which include a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine that makes 178 HP of peak power and 264 Nm torque. Another one is a 2.0-liter turbo petrol unit which produces 245 HP power and 353 Nm of torque. And lastly, a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that is good for 185 HP power and 241 Nm torque.

Its powertrains and underpinnings are similar to that of the Hyundai Sonata. Moreover, it measures 4905mm long and 1860mm wide, the new Optima is 50mm longer and 25mm wider than the current model. According to some sources, the longer 2850mm wheelbase assures to provide a “stable driving character”, while the 20mm lower roofline (1445mm) ensures a “low-slung sporty profile”.

Though it’s launch on the global market like US & Europe is not clear. But we can wait for the company to make any official statement regarding it.
