The British automotive manufacturer has recently added up a name on their ultimate series hypercar list, and we are going crazy after it. Elva is by far the lightest and fastest of McLaren Automotive.

Unique theme
It is to be reminded that the parent company, McLaren, is associated with racing, and by the disclosed pictures, the car clearly resembles the classic race cars with its enlarged wheel arches and discreet rear air scoops, low noise, and completely exposed cockpit. The latest addition is themed after the open race cars built by founder Bruce McLaren and the Elva sports car company in the 1960s. However, it does have that modern look to attract the Millenials with its “pioneering engineering, design and aerodynamic innovation that lies at the core of McLaren’s road car DNA.”
A design that matters
This extreme two-seater boasts a bespoke carbon fiber chassis and body, stunning headlights, slender taillights, a tail dominated by air vents, and a diffuser. However, it comes with no roof, windscreen, or side windows but includes the typical McLaren butterfly door and has a windshield as an option. McLaren Elva is designed to “heighten every sensory input – providing an unparalleled, visceral driving experience.”
In the front of the car, the McLaren Active Air Management System, which includes a fancy set of vents, vanes, and deflectors, is included to channel the air around the passenger compartment. This works “by channeling air through the car’s nose and up over the cockpit, helped by a unique, automatically deployable carbon fiber deflector at the bonnet’s leading edge.”
The extreme and powerful Roadstar
Elva, the lightest road car ever, is coupled with enormous power and torque from an 815PS version of the McLaren Senna’s 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8, creating simply extraordinary levels of acceleration, agility, and driver feedback. The high flow exhaust helps it create 804 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, and the seven-speed transmission sends power to the rear wheels, making it the fastest McLaren on the road ever. The company claims that the engine will propel the car to 62 mph in under 3 seconds and will hit 200 kph in 6.7 seconds. Well, that’s a lot of speed.
The lightest car yet
According to the reports, the car is 2,900 pounds lighter than the Senna itself. Apparently, the lack of any kind of driver enclosure and the carbon fiber chassis and body makes the car light in weight. Even the seats are made of carbon fiber, and no audio system is included. The lightest design gives Elva the agility to move faster on the road.
What’s more
The car is still comfortable yet unique when it comes to its designs and more. It has a storage compartment under the cowls behind the seat that has space for the headgear. You can always put your belongings safe there. Moreover, the company gives you the full freedom to customize Elva as you want. The windshields and the audio system are open for customization; you can even change the covers of the seats. McLaren gives you the opportunity to design your car in terms of your taste and preference.
Price and availability
McLaren Elva is an exclusive car made to satisfy the racing spirit within you. However, only 399 Elvas will be available for the market at an exclusive price of $1.69 million. It is surely a heck of a price to pay for a hypercar, but for some, it is worth it.
