Nokia mobile official Weibo today posted an announcement that the Nokia 2720 flip phone will be up for sale in China from December 24. The phone was recently debuted at Nokia’s event in IFA 2019 earlier this year. The Nokia 2720 Flip is a modern version of the Nokia 2720 Fold feature phone of the year 2009.
The Nokia 2720 Flip phone could be the most elegant feature phone when it goes on sale. As the name implies, the phone has a flip/clamshell cover design. There is a secondary display on the outside of 1.3 inches 240 x 240 pixels resolution. The secondary display will show the caller’s ID, the clock and the date, or even news alerts. Inside there is a 2.8-inch QVGA screen.
The phone’s keypad features large buttons that make it easier to type and dial numbers. It also supports a large font for easy reading of messages. The phone runs KaiOS and comes with the Google Assistant. We can call the assistant to ask about the weather, perform a search or mark or send a text message to a contact.
The Nokia 2720 Flip has an emergency call button (which also works as a Google Assistant button ) that when pressed will send an SMS and call five pre-configured contacts in the address book, one at a time, through the speaker until you connect to one of them. It also has ICE, which helps emergency services access important information, such as medical details of the phone owner.
The phone works with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 processor. It has 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of built-in storage. The latter can be done through MicroSD up to 32 GB. It has a 2MP rear camera with an LED flash. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack.
It comes in variants of a single SIM and dual SIM, both versions use Nano-SIM. The phone includes a 1500 mAh battery that can last up to 28 days standby and provides up to 6.6 hours of talk time in 4G. The Nokia 2720 Flip comes with built-in WhatsApp and Facebook applications. It can also serve as an access point, allowing you to share Internet access to other devices.
The phone is priced at 710 Chinese Yuan (Rs. 7200 approximately) and will be available for sale on December 24 in China. The device comes in two different colors including gray and black.
