The CES 2020 is full of unexpected surprises and awe. Mercedes-Benz introduced its 2009 movie Avatar inspired concept car, the Vision AVTR, designed with the help of the Avatar director Cameron James. The biggest surprise of all is that Sony introduced a new car at the CES 2020 event. The car is called the Sony Vision-S and it is essentially an electric concept sedan.

The concept car only further strengthens the Japanese company’s credibility and durability. Furthermore, the car also showcases at the world stage Sony’s diverse strength is not limited to only electrical gadgets.

Sony’s Vision-S electric sedan creates the perfect balance of the company’s years of experience in manufacturing and producing entertainment products and gadgets and its hunger to branch out to other areas of production as well.

The Sony Vision-S concept is the perfect amalgamation of 33 different sensors installed on both inside and outside of the car, multiple widescreen displays, 360 audio, and always-on connectivity. Some of the top-of-the-game companies such as BlackBerry and Bosch have collaborated with Sony in this respect to bring out the best they have to offer in audio.

Automotive supplier Magna is also a part of Sony’s new automotive venture. The Vision-S is powered by a newly-designed EV platform designed and supplied by Magna. The use of the EV platform does not end here with the Vision-S, Sony has confirmed that the platform will be used to power other vehicles as well, like the SUVs.

Inside the car, there is a dashboard-spanning screen that resembles the Chinese EV startup Byton. Byton had put screens for the rear-seat passengers in the headrests but this, in all scheme of things, sounds like a generic addition. Some people are of the opinion that from the outside the car looks a lot like Porsche and the Lucid Motors Air.
