TikTok adds music tab for artists besides solving major security issues

TikTok Music Tab

TikTok is one of the most downloaded apps of the last decade and it’s still continuing to inspire people. This popular Chinese app lets users make short videos with their dance, act and karaoke concepts. It is mostly influencing youngsters, offering business opportunities and also providing social service programs.

Adding “music tab” for artists

As per the reports, TikTok has now added up a music tab for individual artist accounts recently. The newly introduced tab will let us browse songs and albums of the individual artists and use them for our videos.

Previously, we only got a mixed list of tracks to add up as sound for our videos. But now, we can directly add up any song of our choice directly from the verified artist accounts. We can choose to upload 15-second parts of their tracks and sing along to it as much as we want.

However, this is still in its testing period initiated by TikTok recently. Apart from that, this new feature certainly makes the app interesting and easy to use for daily users as well as beginners. We can now quickly find the songs of our favorite artists and add them to our post or add them to the ‘Favorites’ those whenever we want.

Solving major security flaws

Although TikTok is much popular among the youngsters, it is accused of personal data leakage and censoring contents. After several complaints, the developers of the Chinese app have finally come up with something to increase the security within the app.

TikTok had several security issues that made it vulnerable to hackers. Most of the problems reportedly lay in the way that TikTok handled mobile phone numbers provided by users while registering.

Symptoms like suddenly deleted videos from personal accounts, upload of unauthorized videos, redirect users to a malicious website masquerading, etc. led us to question the security provided by TikTok.

Even recently, TikTok was accused of leaking personal data and forwarding them to the Chinese government. However, a recent BBC article claims that the developers have made major changes to the security and the privacy settings of the app. In a declaration, the developers ensured the users that they have fixed the issues thanking the security firm for the alert.

TikTok is available on Google Play Store and the download scores surely signify its popularity. Looking at how it engages millennials in its sparkly world of videos, it will surely be more popular with time despite its faults.
