Xiaomi posted on Twitter a teaser video of its upcoming concept phone called the Mi Mix Alpha, which absolutely blew everyone’s minds. Xiaomi did the impossible by taking the smartphone design to the next level. The screen for the Mi Mix Alpha goes right round from the front to the edge to the back to the other edge. This smartphone takes the meaning of a ‘bezel-less smartphone’ to a whole new level.
Xiaomi has given the name 4D Surround Display to its new innovation and has a 180.6% screen-to-body ratio. The Chinese tech giant has used the strongest material, including ceramic for the strip and a titanium frame. To keep the screen protected, a specially designed case has also been made for it.
As the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha 5G concept phone is mainly just a screen, there are no physical buttons present on the body of the phone. Rather, every single control button is virtually present on the screen.
The volume button is activated with a swipe across the edge of the phone. Moreover, there is no headphone jack on this phone. Xiaomi is relying on acoustic technology that will turn the display into an earpiece and use it as a proximity sensor. The entire display screen shows the status of the battery when the phone is plugged in and changes its color from red to orange to blue to green when fully charged.
The Mi Mix Alpha 5G concept phones work on the Snapdragon 855+ and come with 12GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.0 storage. In terms of camera, it uses Samsung’s 108 MP camera.
Xiaomi has the largest consumer market in India, and the company has successfully made its empire owning to the availability of affordable smartphones. However, it is not clear yet if the Mi Mix Alpha 5G concept smartphone will be available in India. There are only 500 units of the phone available in the market. If Xiaomi decides to launch the concept phone in India, the price would be as high as Rs. 2.5 lakh.
