Xiaomi announced on March 16 that it will soon launch a new Nio App to commemorate its collaboration with Nio Motor. The app will be used to control the Nio car anytime, anywhere.

Xiaomi has become the world’s second-largest wearable brand in 2019, and the collab with Nio proves how important wearables are going to take a prominent place in the future of technology. There is always going to be a step forward when it comes to technological advancement, and smartwatches work towards building full-service contact across various gadgets.

Xiaomi Mi Watch could be transformed into a smart remote control that has the ability to control the Nio car. All Nio car users need to do is to install the app on the Mi Watch to do so.

Control Nio Cars with Watch

With the help of the Nio App, users can use the Mi Watch to view details about their vehicle, driving status, current power, remaining battery life, view various vehicle statuses. Furthermore, the app can also show visually the opening and closing status of vehicle doors, windows and trunk.

The Nio car will become a smart car in a sense. The app can also warn its users about the tire pressure, and it involves anything abnormal. Car owners can also remotely operate the doors, windows, and air conditioners, such as remotely locking, unlocking doors, opening and closing windows, and air conditioning.

Mi Watch will come with a remote car search function which will help the users if they forgot where they have parked their cars or if they cannot find their cars. Through the Mi Watch, the owner can trigger a series of indicators, like whistle or flashing lights, to find the vehicle.

This is just the beginning, in the future more functions such as NFC will be added.
