Instagram is currently working on a new feature for its IGTV. The new feature will add ‘Video Reactions’ options that will let the IGTV creators allow viewers to respond to their content on the IGTV with contents of their own.

The reverse engineering expert, Jane Manchun Wong again posted on Twitter screenshots of this possible new feature. A new ‘Video Reactions’ option is built into the IGTV upload process which when a video on the same is uploaded will enable the viewers to reply to that content with the content of their own.

The new feature that the popular social media platform, Instagram will soon be putting out sounds a lot like the reaction videos that can be spotted on another popular app, TikTok. TikTok has video reaction options that overlay a video response over the original video post, giving its users more freedom to express themselves creatively. Moreover, TikTok video reactions are one of the major parts of the app.

However, it is difficult to imagine at this point how the Video Reactions would actually take place. On TikTok, the reactions seem to be perfect especially because the TikTok videos are very short and concise, subsequently, the video that post in reply to other TikTok videos are short. The whole point of creating the IGTV was that the creators could post longer videos.

Instagram developers will have to work around this smartly and come to a decision as to how long the video reactions would last, and if the reactions would be limited to 6-seconds long videos, like the Instagram Boomerang.

Not a lot can be said about the IGTV video reactions at this point. Instagram is yet to officially announce the development that it is currently undertaking. But there is no doubt that if this new feature gets rolled out, it will definitely be an interesting one.
