Intel Core i5-L15G7 performance gets tested by GeekBench 5 benchmark

Must Read

As per the reports, Intel has been trying to combine two different cores in one processor. The Intel Core i5-L15G7 processor is an example of this. It belongs to the Lakefield family which is new.

The processor fits in a 12 x 12 x 1 mm case. There is a 10-nanometer crystal that houses one Sunny Cove core and four Tremont cores. Another 22-nanometer crystal houses memory, input-output controllers and other peripheral units. The processor slots itself in the TDP of 5-7 watts and doesn’t support multi-threaded execution.

The Intel processor performance was tested by the GeekBench 5 benchmark. Here are the results:

According to GeekBench 5 test, the Intel i5-L15G7 can operate at a frequency of up to 2.95 GHz. Even though as per the preliminary data, the base frequency is 1.4GHz.

The GeekBench 5 test demonstrates that at a higher frequency only the “large” Sunny Cove core works. The Tremont core only works at the lower frequency. The test also measures the cache configuration which includes 1.5 MB L2 and 4 MB L3.

The Intel Core i5-L15G7 scored 725 points in a single-core test as per the GeekBench test scoring process. And it scored 1566 points in the multi-core test. So how does this compare with Snapdragon 835 single-chip system?

Well, the single-core performance is twice as good as Snapdragon 835 and the multi-core nearly matches Snapdragon’s performance. However, when compared to the more powerful and impressive Snapdragon 8cx model, the latest Intel’s Lakefield entrant falls short.

The single-core performance comes close to Snapdragon’s 8cx model. But the multi-core performance disappoints.
