Huawei is all set to launch two new flagship smartphones, the P40 and the P40 Pro on 26th March 2020. Later in the year, the company will launch the Mate 40 series of smartphones. Its predecessor, the Mate 30 Pro, sports a circular camera system that comes with a quad-camera setup.

The leaked patent shows that Huawei will use this same circular model for the upcoming Huawei Mate series of smartphones.

Apparently, Huawei has filed for a patent that shows that the Huawei Mate smartphone will feature a four-camera system, and the circular rim surrounding it will be a touch screen.

The images that surfaced followed by the news for the patent show that the circular display around the camera is a touch screen and the screen can display the user interface, responding to touch, click, and slide gestures.

For example, if someone calls, the person’s name will be displayed on the screen, and the user can click on the left to answer or right to reject the call. Similarly, new text messages can also be read this way.

The display screen will come with multifarious usages, and the function will not be limited to answering and rejecting calls or text messages. While taking photos or videos, the display screen can be used to adjust the focus, control the volume and ringtone through this small screen, control the clock, or use the screen to turn pages while reading a book.

The display screen and the circular screen surrounding the cameras can work simultaneously and will respond to touch. The back screen could be operated using the index finger while the front display can be used as usual. If the phone is turned upside down, a notification message and an incoming call are displayed on the circular screen.
