Medium is an online publishing platform that brings interesting stories to readers all across the globe. The developer, Evan Williams, has been offering a secure stage for amateur and professional writers to bring out their best works since 2012.

Until recently, new users could create their accounts using Facebook or Google. Signing up using the email id was also a viable option. However, Medium may remove the option of signing up with Facebook in the near future.

According to the sources, Medium is working on their platform’s “sign up with Facebook” option. A popular Twitter user @wongmjane, tweeted the news on March 23rd, 2020. The photo, along with the post, shows the absence of the Facebook sign-up option.

Now, the biggest question is whether the users who already have an account connected to Facebook have to create a new account or not? Well, nothing has been confirmed from the developer’s end. However, people who have their accounts connected to Facebook may have to verify their email id in the future.

This new step taken by the platform may affect the user registration rate. Medium is surely a great option for bibliophiles. The change in signing up options won’t stop them from reading new things, won’t it? Meanwhile, we hope that Medium will continue to deliver good reading collections as always.

About Medium

Medium is an online publishing platform that offers its huge collection of content to its millions of users. Founded in 2012, the platform is still popular among book lovers. A 2019 Nieman Lab article described it as “an endless thought experiment into what publishing on the internet could look like”.

Just like any other apps, you can also create a new account using the Email ID and Google account. You can also become a Medium member with a subscription of a $5 monthly or $50 yearly fee. The subscription allows you access to the exclusive contents within the app.

Medium is available on Play Store and Apple Store. Go check out now!
