We all know that a few people do not want to go so fast with the flow. However, they don’t want to be left behind in terms of technology. For the people who can feel what I am talking about, know that LG cares for these people.

LG has launched its latest entry-level phone that suits the above concerns. The new LG Folder 2 is the phone that has the taste of both the worlds: the tech of new and the ease of old. It is a flip phone hence the name folder and is designed for people who want to handle phones with less hassle. It is the follow-up version of the LG Folder launched in 2018.

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 210 SoC coupled with Adreno 304 GPU and runs with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM which can be expanded up to 32 GB using a micro SD card. It is a dual-display phone having a QVGA display with 320× 240 pixel resolution, which acts as the primary display. The monochrome front screen is 0.9 inch and shows the notifications for calls, messages, time, battery life, signals, etc. It has a 2 MP camera and a 1470 mAh battery.

LG Folder 2 has featured like Radio FM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It does not have a qwerty keyboard, instead, it has a t9 keyboard. This phone is as light as 127 grams and measures 107.9x55x18 mm. Although it will use the Android Operating system, the version is not known yet.

This phone has two special keys that other simple phones do not have. They are

  1. Hotkey: this key is present above the call key and can be used to summon the AI voice service. It can also be used to record ongoing calls.
  2. SOS key: A few new generation phones have systems that allow us to call a pre-registered number in case of emergency. This is usually done through the power button in smartphones. But LG Folder 2 has a special SOS button at the back of the screen. When you hold the phone, you can easily press it and only three quick clicks within 1.5 seconds will call the pre-registered number. It will also send your current location through a message to the same number.

LG Folder 2 has 4G LTE connectivity with a data security lock option to manage data usage and stop unwanted data charges. It will be available in two variants: White and new Platinum Grey.

LG Folder 2 will be available in South Korea from the 17th of April. Its price will be WON 198,000 (around Rs 12,400 or $160/€150). So if your budget is tight and you want to witness these features, then LG Folder 2 is the best thing for you. We wonder when LG will market this phone globally.
