2K announced today that the XCOM: Chimera Squad will soon come to Windows PC on April 24, 2020, with a special limited-time price of $9.99.
The storyline is set five years after the events of XCOM 2 where a group of mysterious rogues is trying to destroy the interspecies peace and alliance. To keep the peace intact, the Chime Squad, an elite force of human hybrid and alien agents, must work together to defeat the rogues.
“With XCOM: Chimera Squad, we felt there were exciting gameplay opportunities yet to be discovered within the XCOM universe,” said Mark Nauta, Lead Designer at Firaxis Games. “Gameplay like Breach Mode, interleaved turn order, and the introduction of agents as fully fleshed-out characters will revolutionize how the game plays while still retaining the combat experience that makes the XCOM series so loved by gaming communities around the world.”
The squad consists of distinct 11 members who come with their own sets of personalities and tactical abilities, and some of their abilities are skill-based. If the agents are paired with the right agents, and the user can utilise the cooperative action, the agents can deliver maximum damage to the rogues. This is one of the key elements and the point of difference between a successful mission and a failed one.

Each mission is discrete and is filled with explosive encounters making each episode full of action. A new combat phase injects the agents into action, and the players will have to assign different entry points to different squad members keeping in mind their specific Breach skills.
Outside the gameplay, the players also need to keep into account the high-tech HQ where they must prioritize competing tasks, investigations and agent assignments during the time when there is constant unrest inside the city.
As mentioned earlier, XCOM: Chimera Squad will be available at launch at the special limited-time at an introductory price of $9.99. The retail price for the game is $19.99 May 1, 2020, onwards.
