Xiaomi has been making smartphones for over ten years. So, it goes without mention that Xiaomi is one of the most popular and famous smartphone makers worldwide, especially in India.

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer might have 10 years of experience, however, some of the fields have gone untouched such as full keyboards, clamshells, customized versions of luxury cars, etc.

Some times the IP68 for dustproof and waterproof has also gone unnoticed. However, a few days ago some people have come across the Xiaomi engineering machine with the codename of Comet. It has a three-proof design and supports IP68.

In terms of specifications, the machine is equipped with Snapdragon 710, LCD screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB of ROM, and a battery of 2900mAh capacity. Furthermore, the machine supports Bluetooth 5.0. Sadly, from the looks of it, the Comet has stayed in the engineering stage and never made its way into production and was not available for sale.

The sources revealed that the machine was purchased from Xianyu for 700 yuan. The purchaser also found out that there are only three of them available in the whole network and they are divided into three versions, namely the P1, the P2, and the P3. However, according to the same source even though the P1 version comes with the IP68 on the casing and it comes in a shatter-resistant shell, it is not waterproof.

Furthermore, the symmetrical design that it so sportingly features on its back would remind one of the Black Shark 3, and it even comes with a separate button on the side of the fuselage.

The Comet made its appearance in the MIUI compiled code as early as 2018 along with ‘Sirius’. But in the end, Comet did not make it to production and Sirius became the chosen one and turned into the Xiaomi 8 SE.
