When we are all looking forward to new techs from Apple and reminiscing about AirPods, Huawei is here to bang the stage with its new launch Huawei Freebuds 3i. You read that correctly and yes it is the variant of Huawei Freebuds 3, only this time it’s the truly wireless headphones. Indeed they somewhat resemble AirPods.

The most striking features of these Freebuds are Active Noise Control (ANC) system and the “closer design”.

By ANC, the surrounding noise will be reduced by upto 24 decibel. Even the Bluetooth professor in these Freebuds which connect via Bluetooth 2.1 and 5.0, is unequipped with this ANC system. This will be carried out through touch-sensitive fields within the housing. Each of the two Freebuds 3i will have a microphone that will help in this cancelation of noise.

By closed design, Huawei means the structure of the Freebuds 3i that will set it different from the previous Freebuds. Concept of airplugs has been introduced into it. There are rubber attachments that will get a firm grip over the ear canal and proper sealing method will be established so that least amount of opening is available and hence the design is named ‘closed’.

Battery

Talking about the battery of the Freebuds 3i, many people opine negative feelings about its small batteries but Huawei is planning to make up for this short coming with greater ideas. When Apple AirPods have 45mAh battery capacity and Samsung Galaxy Buds have 85mAh per headphone, Freebuds 3i have only 37mAh. But then comes Huawei’s plan.

The case of the Freebuds 3i will have 410mAh storage and is a portable box. The headphones have to be charged one hour each and the vas has to be charged for 100mins and this will provide for three full charging of the headphones. Each full charge will make the Freebuds 3i work for 3.5 hours along with the ANC system. This will be carried out with type C USB cables.

The speakers inside the headphones are dynamic and measures 10 mm and teardown experts from iFixit think that these are just lesser than the Apple AirPods Pro that has a drive of 11mm diameter. The headphones weigh 5.5 grams and the case weighs 51 grams.

One thing that Huawei has promised about these Freebuds 3i is that all the devices having Huawei’s in house Android version EMUI 10.0 can be quickly connected to them via quick paring system.

We know that Huawei Nova 7 series is to be launched on 23rd of April 2020 but the specific date for launch for the Freebuds 3i is not yet known. Hence there are speculations that both of these products may hold the same platform for their launch. The price of the Freebuds 3i is yet to be made clear.
