Samsung ‘s big reveal regarding the Active 2 smartwatch was the promise that the smartwatch would come with sensors that would be able to detect irregular breathing, rapid heartbeat, etc., and the data collected could be sent to the physician for consulting. It further claimed that it would also come with ECG feature and fall detection, similar to Apple’s Watch 4 series.

Despite the promises, Samsung had failed to act on them. Initially, when the watch was released, Samsung claimed that the ECG detection and the fall detection features would be rolled out slowly.

The smartphone manufacturer had also promised that the first quarter of this year 2020, the company would make the features available to every Active 2 owners.

However, the inclusion of the feature is getting delayed for some reason. The present circumstances could be a valid excuse since almost everything has come to a standstill, but the company had failed to deliver on their promises long before the pandemic hit.

The users of the Active 2 smartwatch nonetheless have to pay a subscription for both of the features without getting anything in return. The idea of paying for something that does not exist sounds ludicrous, and hence, a lot of the users who had brought the smartwatch mainly for this function are demanding a refund for their watches.

The Samsung Active 2 smartwatch is certainly expensive, and it is creating conflict in its users since they are not getting what was promised. It is not clear yet if the customers’ grievances would be addressed by Samsung by giving them their money back; however, one customer on the Samsung forum commented that he received his pre-order money back through PayPal since he lodged a complaint against the false advertisement. This was a single case of pre-order. Samsung is yet to comment on this issue, or release a statement when the features will be available if ever it becomes available.
