Samsung Electronics announced that the Galaxy Buds would receive new connectivity features through a software update. The update will be available today. The latest version of the Galaxy Wearable app and the earbuds software will be necessary to get the update.

Let’s take a look at the new features provided by the Software Update.

Galaxy Buds can be paired with Windows 10 PC

Now, the Samsung Galaxy Buds is paired with Windows 10-based PC. The software update makes the Galaxy Buds compatible with the Microsoft Swift Pair feature.

Thus, Galaxy Buds can be paired up with both mobile and PC devices. While connected to a PC you can utilize the great sound quality of Galaxy Buds for video-conferences at work, or just listen to music to help you through the workday.

You can hear the ambient sound now

Galaxy Buds now allows you to hear your ambient sound automatically. Samsung hadn’t made this feature available on Galaxy buds until now. When you put on your Buds, you will be able to hear the surrounding sounds.

Even if you are watching movies or listening to your favorite music on high volume the ambient sounds will be audible. The feature will also be available if you only use one earbud. Samsung gives you the choice to tune in, or out of the surrounding environment.

“Tap & Hold” gesture for instant music play

This feature will be available to Spotify users. And you will require the latest version of the app on your phone. Spotify users now will just need a single press to listen to their personalized playlist on their Galaxy Buds.

A “Tap & Hold” gesture allows users to launch Spotify and start listening to music from their last point of pause if you want to change the song, tap and hold again. This allows you to comfortably choose a new song from your playlist via Galaxy Buds. Samsung, through this update, allows you to instantly play your favorite soundtrack, whether you’re about to start a run or just waking up.
