Xiaomi’s upcoming 65-inch Smart TV will support Dolby Vision

Must Read

On April 28, 2020, Xiaomi informed that its new Smart TV has received Dolby Vision certification. Li Xiaoshuang, general manager of its TV department and general manager of the Home Appliances Department, shared the pictures regarding the same on Weibo.

As we can see the new Smart TV model is the Xiaomi L65M5-OD. There are speculations saying that this indicates the new smart TV will be a 65 inch OLED TV. The Chinese manufacturing giant previous Smart TV offerings didn’t have the Dolby Vision certification.

The Xiaomi TV 5 Pro which was launched at the end of last year supports 4K, HDR 10, and Dolby sound, but not Dolby Vision. The HDR 10 support is considered to be of low-level. The TV 5 Pro series was launched in November, last year with three variants of 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch.

The picture shared by Li Xiaoshuang shows that this new smart TV also supports digital terrestrial wave DTMB. The specs look very high-end which will make Xiaomi’s first Dolby Vision certified smart TV an expensive product.

According to Xiaomi’s 2019 financial report, its smart TV shipments rank first in the Chinese mainland market and fifth in the world.
