Porsche is getting ready to bring out variant cars from its 911 lines, the Targa 4 and 4S. The cars come with a retractable roof which takes 19 seconds to open and close, and the seats come with a fixed full-width Targa roll bar behind it.

The company is offering the roll bar in silver but if the customer demands, they can make the bar available in black also. The roof is composed of two flat magnesium elements that offer sound-deadening features. The upper part of the Targa’s windshield is equipped with a wind deflector, and in back, the glass is heated.

Both the 992 Targa 4 and 4S run on the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six which is also to be found in the 911 Carrera and Carrera S. Even the power difference between these two cars is similar to that of the Carrera and Carrera S.

The Targa 4 revs-up to 379 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque while the 4S model is increased to put out 443 ponies and 390 lb-ft. The dua-clutch transmission categorized as the PDK is also of standard version on both the models. However, a six-speed manual is available for the Targa 4S.

Porsche is claiming that the Targa 4 will go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4 seconds and can reach 179 mph. On the other hand, the Targa 4S can reach 60 mph from 0 in just 3.4 seconds and go up to 188 mph.

Porsche has opened up orders for the new generation of sports cars. The 992-gen Porsche 911 Targa 4 and the Targa 4S can be ordered right now. The customers can expect delivery sometime later this year. Both the cars will also be accompanied by a special-edition model which will come out in June. The pricing as was expected is expensive with the Targa 4 starting at $120,650, and the Targa 4S price starts at $136,550.
