The Amazfit T-Rex smartwatch has been teased on Amazon.in. Its manufacturer Huami has revealed that the smartwatch would be available in India by the second week of June. Huami disclosed the information shorty after announcing its release of the Amazfit Bip S in India on June 3.
Both the Amazfit T-Rex and Bips S were launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in January, 2020. Huami has released the Amazfit T-Rex in China and the US. Let’s take a look at its features:
The Amazfit T-Rex is a robust watch designed to withstand extremes of temperatures. In addition to this, it is also touted to be corrosion resistant and its water resistance capacity is limited to 50 meters (50 ATM) which is a standard in most digital sports watches. The device is also dust resistant.
Huami claims that the Amazfit T-Rex has cleared 12 regulations of the military-standard(MIL-STD-810G) quality test. This makes it a great gadget for outdoor activities like hiking, trekking, or sports.
Good watch for outdoors and sports
In terms of activity tracking, the T-Rex includes 14 sports modes. These can monitor heart rates, and exercise statistics amongst other data. The smartwatch comes with basic smartwatch functions like receiving notifications, weather updates, SMS and call reminders, or making mobile payments.
Multiple sensors, good compatibility, and GPS
Huami provides the Amazfit T-rex with a 1.3 inch (360×360 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartwatch houses an optical heart rate sensor (PPG), a 3-axis accelerator, a geomagnetic sensor, and an ambient light sensor. The device is compatible with Android 5.0 devices and higher, and iOS 10.0 and higher.
Amazfit T-Rex uses Blutetooth v5.0 to connect to your smartphone. Huami has also provided it with GPS and CLONASS for navigation.
Coming to the battery, it packs a 390mAh. Huami claims that the battery can run for 20 days when in daily use mode. The GPS usage limits the battery duration to 20 hours. However, in basic watch mode, its battery can last up to 66 days. The watch takes around two hours to reach full charge.
Huami hasn’t revealed the price of the smartwatch in India. Experts expect it to cost around Rs 10,000. The estimate is based on the pricing for the device in China and the US: which was CNY 799 (approx. Rs. 8,400) and $139.99 (approx. Rs. 10,600) respectively.
