Realme has just announced that the Android 11 Developer Preview Program for the Realme X50 Pro is ready for download and installation.
The first Realme phone to get an Android 11 Beta 1 build, the Realme X50 Pro was released in February, this year. It was the first 5G smartphone in the Indian market. The model is a flagship smartphone of the company, with its price starting from Rs 41,999 in India.
After the first beta build of Android 11 was released by Google for the Pixel lineup, Realme had announced that it would roll out a similar beta update with Realme UI to the Realme X50 Pro in July.
A few other smartphones like the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro and the OPPO Find X2 and X2 Pro, which use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, have received similar builds to enable users to install the latest iteration of the Android 11 Operating System. However, the ‘Developer Preview’ build is only intended for the Chinese variant of the smartphone and might not be applicable for the Indian or European variants.
Realme has recommended to not flash the software build on daily driver devices as the first build always has bugs which might hamper the phone’s performance. Since the process would completely wipe out all data from the phone, a data back-up is strongly suggested.
Realme has also recently announced that the Realme 2 Pro handset is getting Realme UI based on Android 10. The official roll-out has begun in batches and one needs to be on the latest version of the phone to receive this update.
