Redmi Launches Two New Notebooks, the RedmiBook 16, And the RedmiBook 14

Redmi released two new notebooks on July 8, 2020: the new 16.1-inch RedmiBook 16 and the 14-inch RedmiBook 14. Both laptops are equipped with the new 10nm 10th generation Intel Core processor that delivers an improved graphics performance by 82%. Both the RedmiBook 16 and the RedmiBook 14 features the GeForce MX350 with 2GB GDDR5 high-speed graphics memory.

Both notebooks also come with improved heat dispenser fans and dual 6mm diameter heat pipes and copper heat dissipation modules. The laptops come with a built-in FN+K performance intelligent selection mode which offers three AI performance modes: balanced mode, full-speed mode, and quiet mode, and these modes could be switched in-between according to different usage conditions and requirements.

The RedmiBook 16 comes with a 16.1-inch FHD full HD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, and a contrast ratio of up to 1000:1. Furthermore, the notebook runs on a 46Watt hr battery which claims to deliver service for up to 12 hours, and it supports 1C fast charging technology and reaches 50% in just 30 minutes.

The new RedmiBooks fall under Xiaomi’s “mobile phone+AIoT” dual-engine strategy which makes it easier for the laptops to connect with other devices such as Xiaomi/Redmi phones, Xiaomi/Redmi bands, and Xiaomi watches. File transferring between the notebooks, and even from notebooks to smartphones is now easier. Thanks to the multi-terminal mutual transfer system which has the ability to operate even in the absence of active internet connection. As for its security, the built-in Xiaomi sensor key allows Xiaomi smart wearable devices to lock and unlock the RedmiBook notebook. The Xiaomi Band can realize the automatic screen lock function.

Redmi is offering a total of six versions for both the notebooks. The RedmiBook 16 i7/16GB/512GB/MX350 version is priced at 5499 yuan, the i5/16GB/512GB/MX350 is priced at 4699 yuan. The RedmiBook 14 i7/16GB/512GB/MX350 version is priced at 5499 yuan, the i5/16GB/512GB/MX350 is priced at 4699 yuan, the i7/8GB/512GB/MX350 version is priced at 5199 yuan, and the i5/8GB/512GB/MX350 version is priced at 4499 yuan.
