Xbox Smite Was Down for Almost 2 Hours on August 10

Must Read

Smite is a third-person action multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game developed and published by Hi-Rez Studios for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One.

Smite usually works just fine, and if there is to be any maintenance done on Smite, the developers certainly announce it beforehand as is custom.

However, on 10th August, Smite recorded a total of 1354 complaints from users who were unable to access it. Only three days ago, on August 7 the Smite servers were down due to maintenance, and this was announced before.

But on August 10 the servers went down all of a sudden, and the Twitter handle of Xbox support was flooded with complaint tweets of the users who were disconnected from Smite all of a sudden.

The servers may go down occasionally; however, this sudden disconnecting problem is not the first. Users around the globe experienced this sudden disconnection issue.

As far back as 2018, almost the same problem occurred where Smite was randomly getting disconnected, and it took the players automatically to the reconnect button, which obviously failed to reconnect the user to the game they were playing.

A few of the users tried to solve the problem by applying a few methods known to them, such as repair through the fane launcher, reinstalling through the game launcher, uninstalling and reinstalling the video game, resetting the firewall settings, and resetting permissions for Smite, putting smite inside Defender’s whitelist, tried to play with the Defender disabled.

None of these methods worked, and since it was not an isolated incident, Xbox took the problem up seriously and acknowledged that Smite, in fact, was facing some issues. The company took to Twitter to announce that they have gotten a hold on the problem and that they were working tirelessly to fix the issue. After a wait of almost 2 hours, Smite went back up. However, Xbox failed to mention exactly what caused the issue in the first place.
