So far what the CEO of Huawei has mentioned is that the upcoming device, which will be launched after the long hiatus of three years, will be lightweight, yet a heavyweight in its function. If it took the company three long years to plan and design the gadget, it will certainly come packed with some serious features.

A piece of good news for Huawei fans as the company’s consumer CEO, Yu Chengdong has announced on Weibo a rather cryptic message that points to the direction of a new device that the Chinese company will bring to the market.

The new product will see the light of day on August 19. Now, as to what this lightweight yet heavyweight device might be is a thing of confusion. The netizens are of the opinion that the new device might be Huawei’s Matebook notebook, and that it will usher in a new family product. On August 12, the Huawei took to Weibo to announce that MateBook X will launch on August 19.

As emphasized by the company itself, the Huawei MateBook X will be a thin and light flagship. There has also been some speculation regarding what the new laptop might bring to the table. It is being speculated that Huawei might introduce a 3K floating full screen with no metal frame design on the notebook; that is, Huawei will completely do away with the metal frame and achieve the dream effect of almost all screen.

According to the official slogan, the notebook will, “break the visual constraints of the border, highlight the screen content itself, bring unobstructed ultra-clear vision and more immersive viewing experience.”

Now, as to what features to expect under the hood is not known, and Huawei appears to be tight-lipped about this. To see a full list of specifications, we have to keep an eye on Huawei’s various online platforms on August 19.
