The leak of the specifications of smartphones is not new and Huawei’s Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro have grabbed the attention of the tech-lovers now. A Chinese tipster has published the details of the rear-end lens of the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 and the Huawei Mate 40 Pro on Weibo.

In general, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, nicknamed Noah, will sport a high-end waterfall display borrowed either from LG or BOE. The display screen will have a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Under the hood, the smartphone would feature the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chip.

Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro have two different battery capacities but there is a third one on the list. Three different battery capacities are to be featured in three different versions of the smartphone. They are the Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro along with the amazing Huawei Mate 40 Pro+. The three variants are supposed to be equipped with 4,300 mAh, 4,600 mAh, and 5,000 mAh batteries.

The published figures show that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro uses an “Oreo” circular rear camera module. The camera setup is supposed to be consisting of a periscope zoom lens, a dual outsole lens, and a TOF depth of field camera. There had been speculations that the Mate 40 would too quip a similar camera setup. However, for the Mate 40, the periscope zoom lens has been canceled and a combination of a large bottom lens along with two unknown ordinary lenses are used.

The protective film surrounding the cameras is obviously a protective measure taken on Huawei’s part to protect the lens and to prevent it from being scratched from daily use so that it does not interfere with the image quality. The camera details leaked for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is eerily similar to that of the Huawei P40 Pro+ that was released in the first half of this year.

The lenses of Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro+ appear to be similar. But it is possible that the lens used in the Huawei Mate 40 Pro has been optimized and upgraded from the 10x zoom lens primarily used in the Huawei P40 Pro+.

The leak also mentions the various models of Huawei smartphones along with their prices. Apparently, the 128GB model will be priced at 5999 yuan, the 256 GB variant will be priced at 6499 yuan and the 512 GB Huawei Mate 40 Pro will be priced at 7399 yuan. As for the date of release, Huawei is yet to confirm an official date.
