Xiaomi owned POCO has announced that it will soon come up with a new smartphone that will definitely be pocket-friendly. POCO will launch the new POCO M2 in India on September 8. The Chinese company took to Twitter to officially make the announcement.

The new POCO M2 will be a pocket-friendly version of the POCO M2 Pro which already has its huge share of the market in India. The POCO M2 Pro went on sale in July 2020. POCO is yet to launch the pricing details of the smartphone. But since the company has mentioned that it will be a pocket-friendly smartphone the chances are that the price will fall somewhere near INR. 10,000.

The new smartphone will mark the company’s entry into the entry-level segment. There have also been talks of the company releasing more details about the specs of the POCO smartphone, and would perhaps announce the possible launch date for the POCO X3. The poster of the launch of the phone reveals that the POCO M2 will feature a display with a water-drop notch.

The company has gone out of its way to state that the new smartphone will not only cater to the issues regarding low RAM but will also address the issues of the poor camera and the lousy battery life. The company has successfully kept the details of the smartphone hidden as of now.

Also, there has been a rumor going around that the POCO M2 could be the rebranded version of an existing old Redmi smartphone. According to a few reports, the entry-level smartphone from POCO turned out to be the Redmi 9 Prime that was launched in India last month. The price of the Redmi 9 also falls under INR. 10,000 which also resonates with POCO’s resolution to keep the new smartphone on the pocket-friendly side.
