Recently through a tweet, a tipster mentioned that Xiaomi is currently working on a new smartphone. The chances of getting details about the rumored smartphone out do not seem plausible as of now. However, this does not do away with the fact that at least the minimum details about the smartphone be known.
Although the ‘barely-there’ details would not contribute anything substantial to the overall specifications of the smartphone, it should be mentioned nonetheless. According to the tweet, the new Xiaomi smartphone is codenamed ‘common’. The tweet further lists that the upcoming smartphone will function on MediaTek SoC and the rear side of the smartphone will come with a dual camera of 48 MP.
The details about the smartphone end there. According to a few sources, the new smartphone from Xiaomi will be on the pocket-friendly side. We can expect the price for the base model to start from somewhere around INR. 12,999. But for confirmation, we would have to wait for an official statement from the smartphone giant.
There is also another assumption attached to the details mentioned above. It is that the new smartphone could be the Redmi 10 which is supposed to launch in India very soon. But again Redmi 10 would have been the perfect fit for the description if not for its cameras. The Xiaomi ‘common’ codenamed smartphone could not be the new Redmi 10 as it comes with a quad-camera set up on its back.
With the several guesses and assumptions taking shape and breaking down, we are left with no other option but to wait. Only a more solid and fact-filled data can make us surer about the specs and nomenclature of the phone than the current info. As of now, we can wait for Xiaomi to give out more hints or make some official announcements. You can then decide if the phone is indeed ‘common’ or not.
