c has reconsidered the pricing of the upcoming Google Pixel 5, and the new pricing range is set, unlike any other Pixel devices. Reportedly, the pricing for the Google Pixel 5 will be set at $649.

The Google Pixel 5 which is set to release by the end of September will feature a 6-inch OLED display with the refresh rate clocked at 90Hz. Under the hood, the smartphone will run on a Snapdragon 765G and will feature 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

The only disappointing thing about this new device is that it is likely to be slower than its predecessor and will come with the same camera sensor as seen in the ancient Pixel 2. Many people, with the previous Pixel model, the Pixel 4, thought that the device was unreasonably priced at $799 for the base model, making it the most expensive Pixel device ever.

Despite its high unreasonable price, Pixel 4 failed on many fronts to deliver which include, but are not limited to, poor battery life and a flimsy motion sense feature. The lack of a fingerprint sensor, ultra-wide camera module did not make Google’s case for pricing it too high stronger. Google’s decision to set the price for the upcoming Pixel device probably came from this place.

Other smartphone companies are coming out with devices relatively faster than Google’s at a reasonable price. The Pixel 4a which featured almost the same features as its previous device was priced at $350 but that too did not impress its consumers. So Google decided to discontinue the production of Pixel 4a.

Google finally decided that the only way to make Pixel stay afloat in a market of fast, affordable yet powerfully packed smartphones is not only to slightly lower its price but also offer a smooth software experience. The upcoming Google Pixel 5 may just come with a better camera and exceptional software for that reason.
