The “Wing” dual-screen phone moniker from the house of LG has been officially confirmed. This will be the first smartphone from the company under the Explorer Project. The device will be unveiled on September 14 at 10:00 (EDT).
The event of the launch will be streamed live from the official YouTube channel and Facebook page of LG Mobile. The Explorer Project will be LG’s new mobile category which focuses on discovering new ways to interact with mobile devices, thereby highlighting the evolving and ever-changing needs of the generation of phone-users and giving them something out of the box.
This new LG Wing dual-screen rotating phone will have a brand new form factor and the mobile experience would be out of the world, ensuring that the users have never seen anything like this before in usual and regular smartphones. The dual display has the display on top of a swivel that is rotatable to an angle of 90-degrees. When the top display slides out, then the utility of the second display behind it can be accessed.
This is similar to flip phones from back in the days when they could have their screens rotated up to reveal a keypad. There can be numerous more utilities of the flip design but all of the usability will depend on the software that LG can provide.
On the top screen of the LG Wing dual-screen phone, one can watch any video in landscape mode while tweeting, chatting, and performing important work in the bottom screen. We will have to wait for the phone to release and then we can discover the other features.
