Facebook has launched its Facebook Campus, which is a college-only space designed to help students connect with fellow classmates over shared interests. It will help in starting conversations within the college community.

Students across the country are facing new challenges this year due to the pandemic as some of the campuses have shifted to partial or full-time remote learning. So this feature will help the students to connect and have a virtual college life.

College is a time for making new friends, finding people who share similar interests, and connect overstudy, games, and so on. Facebook, before it became a platform for all, was a college-only network, and now we’re returning to our roots with Facebook Campus to help the students to connect with each other.

There is a dedicated section of the Facebook app designed for students, with a Campus profile that’s different from their main Facebook profile. All the students need to add their email id of college and year of graduation.

Other data like their major, classes, hometown, and minor are optional. Once a Campus profile is set up, students can discover Groups and Events unique to their school, and connect with classmates who share similar interests.

People within the campus can see only the content and the news from the Campus can be obtained from a college email-verified space designed for students to get updates from classmates, groups, and events from the college.

A classmate’s directory will be there to make it easy to find and meet new people. Campus Chats will be real-time chat rooms. Students can create chat rooms for their dorms or any other groups according to their convenience.

In the US: Benedict College; Brown University; California Institute of Technology; College of William & Mary; Duke University; Florida International University; Georgia Southern University; Georgia State University; Johns Hopkins University; Lane College; Lincoln University (Pennsylvania); Middlebury College; New Jersey Institute of Technology; Northwestern University; Rice University; Sarah Lawrence College; Scripps College; Smith College; Spelman College; Stephen F Austin State University; Tufts University; University at Albany – State University of New York; University of Hartford; University of Louisville; University of Pennsylvania; University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire; Vassar College; Virginia Tech; Wellesley College; and Wesleyan University, this Facebook Campus will be present.

Students at these colleges can find Campus within the Facebook app. The security options will be intact and thus the Campus will be a great way to connect.
