People use YouTube to watch videos of their choice of course; however, according to a few reports, YouTube is currently working on introducing several new features meant exclusively for YouTube Premium users.

Some news outlet reported that YouTube is almost done working on the new updates, and the updates are currently in testing mode. If this is the case, it would not be long before the new features are introduced to the regular version of YouTube.

Currently, the features that the online platform is testing include watching videos on the YouTube homepage, the use of voice search, and filtering by topic in additional languages.

Currently clicking on any video on YouTube takes the user to a separate page where the video starts playing, and which lists similar videos underneath, either from the same channel or from the same type of content. One of the new features that the app is testing is to watch on the YouTube homepage itself without leaving it, thereby eliminating the need to jump from one YouTube page to others. The voice search option would let the users search for any video on YouTube using voice. The search button now will be accompanied by a little microphone button.

Furthermore, YouTube has also launched a new test function which filters subject according to different languages. The new filter option will allow its users to filter subjects in three new languages. This will certainly ensure that YouTube engages with a more diverse group of users.

One thing that should be taken note of is that the video watching on the YouTube homepage is limited only to iOS devices as of now, while the voice search option is limited to the web version and the different languages filter option is limited only to Chrome devices. All of these newly added features are only available to YouTube Premium users.
